Excavations on a 287 graves cemetery in Pont-sur-Yonne, 25 km north of Sens, conducted by J.-Y. Prampart revealed a little group of Late Roman graves. Some include traditional late roman military objects (crossbow brooches, cingula), others material belonging to the material culture of the Tisza valley (Hungary) (brooches, necklaces, pottery). They probably belong to a small group of Sarmatians attested nearby by the Notitia Dignitatum (Occ. XLII).
